Our view is that readiness becomes an operating measurement, in the same way pipeline became an operating measurement thirty years ago. Not a score attached to a person, and not a coaching opinion — a description of what was demonstrated, by whom, in which behaviour, with the evidence attached.
We call this layer Sales Readiness Infrastructure: the systems that make execution observable before revenue depends on it. It sits underneath training, enablement and CRM rather than replacing any of them. Training builds the capability. Enablement equips it. CRM records the result. Readiness infrastructure describes the state in between, which is the only part currently invisible.
We expect three shifts over the next several years. Readiness will be reviewed alongside pipeline rather than inside enablement. Coaching attention will be allocated by evidence rather than intuition. And organizations will begin to answer, at the level of a person and a behaviour, the question this report is named after.
